Grand Canyon University was established in 1949 and now offers students the opportunity to earn their degrees online. There are degree programs for the College of Education, Nursing and Health Sciences, Business, and Liberal Arts. Students can create a schedule that works best for their needs so they can work towards a certification, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree.
Admission into an undergraduate program requires a high school diploma or equivalent. For those who wish to enroll in a graduate program, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited source is required. Grand Canyon University Online also requires students to have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 for all undergraduate work completed.
Online education through Grand Canyon University Online is made possible with Angle Technology. Every course offered online utilizes this technology which provides students with a standard class format. Each course begins with a quick tutorial to get students acquainted with their online classroom.
All courses offered online are eight weeks in duration. Students are only allowed to take two courses during a single semester. Although some courses do require a number of exams, most professors prefer to assign a variety of projects and papers to students which will then be used for assessment. There are also message boards available to students which will allow you to communicate with the other people in your class.
Grand Canyon University receives their accreditation from The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The College of Business receives accreditation from the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs as well.
